Catalog Description

Overview of the different types of viral hepatitis, their characteristics and treatment options with a focus on hepatitis C as a current public health issue especially among IV drug users. Emphasis on the practice of harm reduction, prevention, navigation and advocacy for communities experiencing substance use, HIV and viral hepatitis.

Section Notes

This class requires in-person meetings and the use of Canvas. Coursework on Canvas starts prior to the first in-person meeting. In-person meetings will take place on select Saturdays: 10/4 & 10/25 from 9:40pm-2pm at Ocean Campus.
Students will also complete coursework in Canvas, which must be accessed using an internet enabled device. This class is part of and is 4 weeks. For student support and other services, students can check .
