Catalog Description

An introduction to the social sciences using the medium of comic books, graphic novels, and sequential art-related media illustrating central social science concepts. Examination of power, powerlessness, and superpower. Past and present impact on a diverse American society by comic books, graphic novels, sequential art, and animation as artistic expressions and representations of socio-political issues.

Section Notes

This is is a 17.5 week in-person course that meets on Ocean campus. Some assignments will require the use of Canvas to access course materials, submit assignments, and/or receive instructor feedback. Students will need access to an internet enabled device. This course has a no-cost textbook.
